Otoscopic Procedure

1. Prepare all necessary equipment before the procedure and ensure all instruments are functioning properly .
2. Connect the instruments, avoiding folding or twisting of the optical fibers, and ensure unobstructed negative pressure suction.
3. Assist the patient to lie flat with their head turned to one side or on their healthy side (affected ear facing upwards).
4. For patients with hard earwax in the external auditory canal, earwax softening should be performed first.
5. Assist the doctor in administering 2-3 drops of 1%~2% tetracaine into the ear for local infiltration anesthesia.
6. During the puncture, the patient's head and body must remain still to ensure fixation.
7. Closely observe the patient for any adverse reactions and inquire about their feelings.
8. After the procedure, gently plug the external auditory canal with sterile cotton balls.
9. Tidy up the equipment and turn off the machine.
